About

Vincent Verheyen (b. 1995) is a Belgian self-taught designer and craftsman based in Antwerp. Working across lighting, furniture, and objects, his practice merges technical precision with a sculptural sensibility. Rooted in a background as a welder and fabricator within the petrochemical industry, his work draws from both industrial processes and organic forms, resulting in pieces that balance rawness with refinement. A deep appreciation for architecture, natural structures, and material honesty lies at the core of his practice. Verheyen works intuitively, developing ideas directly through material exploration and prototyping rather than through drawings. This hands-on approach allows form, texture, and construction to evolve simultaneously, giving each piece a distinct physical presence.

His craftsmanship was further shaped through fine metalworking training as a goldsmith and through experience in a traditional lusterie, where he learned the artisanal craft of handmade chandeliers. Combining these disciplines, Verheyen creates lighting, furniture, and objects that exist between functional design and sculpture. Through an instinctive and material-driven process, Verheyen transforms imagination into tangible works that celebrate structure, imperfection, and the expressive qualities of raw materials.
